Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating can be installed into retrofit homes to replace radiator heating systems and can make heating systems 40% more efficient. This does however cost more, ideally underfloor heating should be installed during property refurbishment or new build.

The many benefits of underfloor heating include its low cost maintenance, its superior room temperature control and its lack of wall instalments such as radiators, which reduce space.

Radiators provide a circulatory heat which always starts from the celling to the floor, whereas underfloor heating heats all the floor area to the celling making efficient use of heat rising to heat rooms.

I have a self-build property that was built 22 years ago. With the house came a complex underfloor heating system that has an unvented cylinder system. Our Mitsubishi Air Source Heat pump, which was nearing the end of its three year warranty, required servicing. I was concerned about a noise which occurred whenever the heat pump switched on or off. After speaking to Mitsubishi regarding approved servicing companies, I contacted McCartney Group. They responded very promptly with an initial visit, diagnosed the problem, which related to an incorrect installation and returned the following week to service the system and install the required additional plumbing. The work was carried out with maximum efficiency and the minimum of mess and I was happy with the quotation for the work. I would recommend McCartney Group without reservation for this type of work.
