Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP’s) are an alternative to gas, LPG and oil fired boilers. They are a reliable and efficient way of providing heat and hot water and can lower your energy bills, particularly if you are replacing electric heating or oil. ASHP’s are also a commercially attractive option for any business.
ASHP’s don’t require a large area of land, this makes them ideal for homes or businesses that do not have a lot of land. The install of an ASHP is also easier than a GSHP as there are no pipes to be burried in the ground.
ASHP’s work by extracting heat from the outside air in the same way a fridge extracts heat from its inside. It can get heat from the air even when the temperature is a low as -15 deg C. They can heat radiators, underfloor or warm air heating systems and provide hot water.
Heat Pumps do have some impact on the environment as they need electricity to run, but the heat they extract from the air is constantly being renewed naturally and if you have Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels on your roof you will be generating the electricity to run the system. That being said Solar PV panels are NOT a necessity in having an ASHP system installed.
Heat Pumps can also provide you with a regular income through the Government Renewal Heat Incentive (RHI). The RHI is a UK Government scheme set us to encourage uptake of renewable heat technologies among householders, communities and businesses through the provision of financial incentives.
McCartney Group is registered under the Microgeneration Certificate Scheme (MCS) and are experts in all aspects of renewable technology installations. Our specialists can provide you with clear information on all aspects of the installation & expected RHI payments.
